Easy Free Roblox Shirt Maker: Make Shirt Templates

Just like most things related to Roblox, anyone can design and create their own Roblox t-shirt for their avatar to wear, and share it with friends, family, and the world. Using the image editor, your Roblox Create account, and Roblox Studio, your kids can have fun creating their own custom Roblox shirt templates. So today I’m going to share my favorite free way to make t-shirts.

Free Roblox Shirt Maker

There’s no one-stop tool for making custom Roblox t-shirts. Instead creating a t-shirt on Roblox involves designing it with image editing software, then uploading it to Roblox. There are many free tools to help kids and teens design t-shirts easily. Here are the two I recommend:

canvas: This user-friendly platform has free templates, and offers a drag-and-drop design feature for creating custom t-shirt designs.

Pixlr: It is a free online photo editor with powerful tools. This is a great option for teens who are familiar with Photoshop-like tools but are looking for a free option.

Learn How to Make a Roblox Shirt Template

Making an outfit for your Roblox character can be as simple or as complex as you want, but of course it’s best to start with the basics. For this example, we will create a shirt template with one pattern throughout. However, you can also apply a different appearance to each part of the t-shirt template to make it look unique later.

1. Find a blank shirt template.

You can find a blank shirt template using any image search engine, then place it in an image editor, such as the online Pixlr editor or Canva. Make sure the image is a PNG file (not a JPG or GIF file). Download the image, then import it into your editor. If you like using Pixlr, you can use this link to add it directly to the editor. First, we select our image:

Now we open it in Pixlr:

2. Add some color to the template.

Now that your template is loaded, you can start creating it. Let’s add yellow as the background color. Use Shaping tool, add the yellow rectangle as a new layer, then move the rectangle layer below the template layer by dragging it down in the “Layers” window.

If you are familiar with your image editor, you can try adding some texture or text to your shirt using various tools. To add a word, use Add Layer > Text Layer tool:

To add a texture and then filter it to the yellow rectangle, select it Image Layer and add the pattern image you have downloaded:

Then right click on the pattern Layerand try something else Mixed Mode to see what you like (we use Darken to blend the pattern with the yellow rectangle):

Now we have cute clothes to wear on our avatars!

4. Save and export

Once your new design is complete, you need to save it to your computer. Find the Save button and make sure it is saved as a PNG file.

How to Upload Your Roblox Shirt Template

Once you have the PNG file, open Roblox Develop and click on it shirt. Once the tab loads, you can click on it Uploading to add your shirt design to your Creation. NOTE: It does cost money 10 Robux to upload your t-shirt to your current Creation.

Click on the Clothes name, and you can see your new clothes in the Robloxian instance!

How to Test Your Roblox Shirt Template

Now that we have the shirt in Roblox, we need to make sure everything is working properly. Open Roblox Studio and click New, then choose any template you want, such as Baseplate.

1. In Studio, go to the Avatar tab and click Build Rig.

2. Select the rig type from the popup menu. This will drop an avatar mannequin in your workspace named Dummy.

3. In Explorer window, hover over the Dummy object, click the ⊕ button and insert the Shirt object (it will appear as Clothes).

4. In Property window, look for the ShirtTemplate property:

5. Go back to your clothes from Make menu on the Roblox website and click three small dots to copy the URL for your clothes.

6. Back to Roblox Studio, Click inside the ShirtTemplate property row and paste the URL you copied from Roblox. This applies clothing textures to mock characters!

Find Roblox Outfit Template Ideas

If you’re not sure what type of design or pattern to make for a shirt in Roblox, here are some suggestions to get you started.

1. Google it

Google Images has lots of ideas you can look at to get inspiration for your own designs. Just type in the search, “Roblox shirt template ideas” and you can see thousands of unique designs that other people have created. Make sure to use them only as inspiration (think about how you can creatively combine parts of an idea to create your own fresh creation), and don’t copy their designs directly without permission.

2. Pixlr.com Templates

Online image editor Pixlr offers plenty of templates to get you started, and you can quickly add them to the editor to make changes, add a personal touch, or improve quality. The editor is free and easy to use!

3. Prezibase.com Seasonal Templates

Prezibase has a fun list of seasonal templates, so you can find t-shirt ideas for any season of the year. Feeling summery? Grab their striped Sailor template. Cold? They have winter puffy jackets for that. Lots of fun ideas to get you started making your own t-shirt creations.
