Blog-Gravity Forms and Yoast-2 Case Study

When web agencies work with nonprofits, they face a unique challenge: delivering maximum impact on a limited budget while building a solution that can grow as the organization’s needs evolve.

For Vaulted Oak, a custom web agency, the answer lies in selecting tools for their nonprofit clients that offer long-term reliability, flexibility, and scalability – which is why Gravity Forms and Yoast SEO are their solutions of choice.

“A big part of Vaulted Oak’s expertise as an agency is finding effective and seamless solutions for our clients – which is basically knowing which tools to use for the right job,” explains Vaulted Oak’s David Ries.

“Gravity Forms and Yoast are just for the WordPress sites we manage, both are well-established and reliable platforms that allowed us to implement them without difficulty or huge development time. This is especially useful for our non-profit accounts that need low friction and high ROI for the technology they decide to use as an organization.”

Read on to learn how Gravity Forms and Yoast played a critical role in the success of three of Vaulted Oak’s nonprofit clients…

Three nonprofit organizations, three success stories

Vaulted Oak’s approach has proven successful across a wide range of nonprofit organizations, each with different missions and evolving technology needs.

Council for Economic Education: Increasing the impact of education

CEE

The Council for Economic Education (CEE) serves many people. They provide training and resources to more than 40,000 teachers annually reaching more than 4 million students with economics and personal finance education.

CEE uses Gravity Forms strategically to manage enrollment across their various programs, including the Invest in Girls initiative and teacher memberships through EconEdLink.org.

CEE’s positive experience shows the reliability of the platform at scale, explains Andrea Mozo, Senior Director at CEE. “CEE’s experience with Gravity Forms has been very positive. The team uses Gravity Forms to manage CEE’s Invest in Girls program enrollment including online and in-person programs, volunteers, and schools. Additionally, CEE uses Gravity Forms to manage teacher membership enrollment.”

The foundation supports their mission to reach educators across the country while maintaining the professional experience their audience expects. Their success illustrates how Gravity Forms can handle complex, multifaceted enrollment needs while providing room for continued growth as the program expands and evolves.

Independent Film: Building community relationships

Independent Films

For more than 40 years, Film Independent has championed creative independence in visual storytelling, supporting the global filmmaking community through programs ranging from Artist Development Labs to the prestigious Film Independent Spirit Awards.

Their website serves several important functions: informing the community about programs and events, hosting awards show announcements, fundraising through donations, and generating revenue through partner advertising.

Film Independent relies on Gravity Forms as the backbone of its digital communications strategy. What makes this partnership so valuable is the platform’s ability to scale with their needs.

As a membership organization open to all filmmakers and film lovers, they benefit from a form solution that can seamlessly expand from basic questions to more advanced applications. Whether it’s volunteer coordination, gathering event feedback, program implementation, or member outreach, Film Independent gets it all done, all on the same trusted platform.

Bike New York: Pedaling toward safety and education

New York Bicycles

As New York City’s leading nonprofit organization for cycling safety and education, Bike New York has been promoting the fun and freedom of cycling for nearly 50 years.

With programs spanning five regions – from Learn to Ride classes for beginners to bike mechanic job training, plus major events like the TD Five Boro Bike Tour (the world’s largest charity ride) – their digital needs are as diverse as their community.

Their website goals center around brand awareness, event registration, program engagement, and donations. Gravity Forms provides a foundation for their community connections, with the flexibility to handle everything from simple program questions to complex multi-program enrollment processes.

As they expand across New York’s diverse neighborhoods, they are equipped to increase the functionality of their forms as their impact grows.

SEO Benefits: Makes an impact discoverable

Even though forms handle interactions, discoverability remains critical to a nonprofit’s success.

CEE’s experience with Yoast SEO illustrates this perfectly: “Because CEE doesn’t have a budget for digital advertising, like paid search, it’s critical that the CEE team leverages SEO to work as hard as possible so teachers and students can find our programs and resources.”

The effectiveness of this tool goes beyond technical optimization. As Film Independent notes, “Yoast SEO allows us to spend more time focusing on our goals – and supporting the work of talented independent filmmakers – and less time worrying about the minutiae of SEO.”

This efficiency is especially important for nonprofit organizations where every hour spent on technical tasks is time away from mission-critical work.

Growth factors: Tools that can be tailored to the mission

The true strategic value of Gravity Forms and Yoast SEO for nonprofits lies in their ability to grow with the organization.

CEE’s current implementation shows this potential in action, while Film Independent and Bike New York show how organizations can build a strong foundation and have room for expansion.

Gravity Forms offers organizations the flexibility they need to scale functionality over time:

  • Advanced volunteer application with conditional logic
  • Event registration with automatic confirmation
  • Donation processing integration
  • Multi-step program registration
  • Automatic data routing to the CRM system
  • Survey and feedback collection

This scalability can prove invaluable for nonprofit organizations, where growth often occurs in stages and budgets require careful planning. Rather than facing expensive platform migrations, organizations can expand their capabilities within familiar, proven systems.

Institutional advantages: Future-ready foundation

For web agencies like Vaulted Oak, recommending tools that can grow with clients creates lasting value.

  • The reliability of both platforms means less troubleshooting and more time to focus on strategy and growth.
  • Extensive documentation and community support reduce development time, while regular updates ensure long-term viability.

This forward-thinking approach serves nonprofit clients who must balance immediate needs with future possibilities.

Whether it’s CEE expanding its educational programs, Film Independent expanding its member services, or Bike New York launching a new safety initiative, having a scalable technology foundation means growth opportunities don’t require a complete system overhaul.

Nonprofit Benefits: Maximum impact, minimum friction

The combination of Gravity Forms and Yoast SEO addresses the core technology challenges facing nonprofit organizations: providing professional functionality while maintaining cost-effectiveness and ease of use. Both platforms offer enterprise-grade capabilities that are accessible to organizations regardless of technical expertise.

This accessibility proves important for nonprofit organizations whose staff often wear many hats. Tools that work reliably without requiring special technical knowledge allow teams to focus on program delivery and community impact rather than technology management.

The bottom line for mission-driven organizations

Smart technology choices multiply nonprofits’ impact by removing barriers between organizations and the communities they serve. The success of CEE, Film Independent, and Bike New York shows that the right basic tools enable organizations to start strong and scale smoothly.

As David Ries of Vaulted Oak emphasizes, effective solutions offer “low friction and high ROI” – which is what nonprofits need to maximize the impact of their mission while managing limited resources. In a sector where every dollar counts for the benefit of society, choosing tools that provide immediate benefits while leaving room for growth is responsible stewardship.

Whether you’re teaching economic literacy, championing independent filmmakers, or promoting cycling safety education, building your digital presence on a reliable and scalable platform means you can focus on your mission today while remaining ready for tomorrow’s opportunities. The right tools not only support today’s work – they empower future impact.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
